Commissions
I love to do commissions, when many artists may not. I enjoy the collaboration process that is shared in the studio, where the owner can learn through the common artistic experience that flows through my process as a visual artist.
The commission process is as follow:
The client can determine the subject matter, size of the canvas - with the understanding it will be composed in my style. Since mood is conveyed through the color of the painting, together we will discuss how it plays out. Each painting has a life of it’s own; this is is the visual collaboration.
You will be given a quote prior to the beginning of the painting process with a 50% downpayment required. Because the process is inclusive of the client, the cost is 10-15% greater than standard. This allows for time together, integrating your input along the way. Once the composition is determined and the painting is completed, the commission is final. Supplemental changes are not included.
My process includes gathering inspiration from photographs, so it is often helpful to see a representation of placement for the piece. I welcome photos of the interior space, so I can recognize the influence of the colors and lighting within the space.
Timing of completion can vary, depending on the size and scope of the piece. Most commissions are completed within 3 months.
